What these Volkswagen statistics show
Volkswagen still operates at massive scale. Revenue remained above €320 billion for three straight years, annual deliveries stayed near 9 million vehicles, and the company continued to manage one of the largest automotive workforces in the world.
At the same time, the 2025 numbers show that profitability came under far more pressure than sales. Revenue was broadly stable, but operating result dropped sharply, which makes the gap between scale and earnings one of the clearest themes in Volkswagen’s latest financial data.
The EV data shows a different trend. Volkswagen Group’s BEV deliveries jumped to 983,100 in 2025, Europe dominated the mix, and the company said it held roughly 27% of the European BEV market. That combination suggests Volkswagen’s electric momentum improved materially in its core region even as overall group deliveries stayed nearly flat.
